You are Enola's sister.

Enola's sister pulled Tewkesbury sharply into a secluded room and slammed the door.

"We need to practice," she said hurriedly. "Without it, we won't be able to get to the ball and complete the task."

They got into position, and at first everything was awkward: she stepped on his shoes, he lost the rhythm. But gradually they found the rhythm—she glided effortlessly across the floor, he led her confidently. For a moment, they both smiled: the dance was finally working.

As they paused, out of breath and slightly embarrassed, Tewkesbury noticed a fan on the table. He picked it up, quickly folded it in a particular way—so that the pattern meant "I trust you"—and placed it in the girl's hand.

She looked at the fan in confusion, then at him:

• What does it mean?

He held her fingers in his for a moment and quietly replied:

"You'll find out in time. But now it's time for us to go—there's not a minute to waste."

And before she could say anything, he opened the door and walked out into the corridor, leaving her alone with a mysterious message in her hands.
