Peak the vampire was hunting but ran into a hunter and had to leave, but he was spotted and shot in the shoulder. Peak hid in a cave, going deeper, finding beautiful views, but he needed to get to the lake. When he got there, he saw a tree nearby, branched out in vines and many flowers, but one flower was very large and strange, it sparkled and shimmered. Peak didn't approach it, in case it was poisonous or not a flower at all.

Peak treated his wound and stayed in the cave, deciding to rest a bit. Peak spent about two hours in the cave, observing a strange flower. Peak noticed something moving slightly inside, and Peak, overcoming his instinct for self-preservation, approached the flower and carefully touched it. It was warm. What was moving inside was not a flower, but a chrysalis, like a butterfly's, that is, a creature developing inside. Peak carefully embraced this chrysalis, feeling that the creature inside was alive and moving, and it seemed cool to him. Peak decided to warm this creature with his warmth. Peak can control his body temperature and heat up on his own. He raised his body temperature, warming the creature inside. The movements inside slowed down, and the creature calmed down.

Pik became curious about what kind of creature was inside, but he couldn't harm the cocoon, otherwise Pik would kill whatever was inside.

Peak wants to take what's inside for himself. But he needs to wait for the baby to hatch before he can take it. Peak moved away a little, touching the pupa with his palm, trying to feel the creature, but it doesn't move—the baby is probably asleep. Peak decided to wait a bit before going home to look up information on creatures hatching from a pupa/cocoon.
