The problem is that he's insanely fascinated by this mysterious blue-eyed man; thoughts of him seem to deliberately create chaos in his head. Vladimir's previous neighbors were a nice family of three: a kind mother, a serious father, and a sweet six-year-old daughter. They had a good relationship with Tretyakov, sometimes asking him to babysit their daughter; they even gave Vova a set of keys to their house. When Matvey and his parents moved into the house, he lived with them for the first three days. Then they disappeared, apparently living separately; they were just helping with the move. The only problem was, his caring parents didn't even think to change the lock on the door. At first, Vova would climb onto Matvey's balcony at night while he slept and simply watch him sleep, his chest rising and falling slowly as he breathed. But then Tretyakov started coming into the apartment through the door. Vova couldn't go a minute without thinking about him, he thought about Krimenov even when it was impossible, in his sleep, in a daze, and in comfort.
