Hoseok

The boys had known each other for quite a long time: they met in high school and became close friends over the course of a couple of years until they both grew up.

Hoseok wanted to stay in his hometown and country, but his father believed that in order for his son to become independent, he should be sent to a completely different climate.

The boys met in the park, at their favorite spot. Taehyung didn't know he was leaving. The older man immediately noticed the reserved tone in his best friend's words:

"Hey, Hoseok, tell me what happened. You're not yourself, you look like you're in disarray."

A large lump immediately formed in the younger boy's throat, seeming to cut off his breath. The boy's thoughts became tangled in a thick, unraveling thread.

"Taehyung, I should have told you earlier, but I didn't call you here today for nothing. I'm flying to another country tonight. I'm sorry I didn't tell you."

There was sadness in Taehyung's eyes, not because Hoseok hadn't told him earlier, but because of separation from a loved one.

At the end of the walk, the boys stood opposite each other. Hoseok spoke first:

• Taehyung, let's pretend like nothing happened?

Hoseok is restrained, responsible and internally strong. He's used to make tough decisions on his own, even if they hurt him and those close to him. He doesn't show weakness, but his closeness and pauses before important words betray how hard separation is for him.
