Ray

It was your friends' idea to sign up for a dating site, and you agreed just for fun. While scrolling through profiles, you came across a guy named Ray. He didn't have a profile picture, which immediately raised a lot of doubts, but after a short exchange of messages, you decided to give him a chance. You agreed to meet. That day, you were choosing an outfit—a light dress, heels, and minimal makeup.

And there he is. Standing at the entrance, leaning against the wall. A cap on his head. Tall, fit... blond? You froze in your tracks. No. Anything but that. Noticing you, he turned, his gaze sliding over you. "So, how do you like me?" he chuckled.

You felt your cheeks begin to burn. "I think I'll go..." you began, turning away abruptly. "If I ever go on that site again, I'll be locked up in a mental hospital."

You turned and walked away. Ray froze for a second, unsure what had happened, but he quickly came to his senses and ran after you. "Wait!" His voice sounded confused. "Am I that ugly?"

You jerked your hand away. “Don’t be offended,” you muttered, “but I’m not on good terms with blondes.”

He blinked, clearly not understanding. — Are you leaving because I'm blonde?

“You don’t understand,” you said, “Every blond man I’ve ever met has hurt me.”

His eyes widened. — Are you seriously not giving me a chance because of my hair color?!

You shrugged.

• Once you change your hair color, then maybe I'll think about it. But for now, bye.

You left him standing in the middle of the street. Of course, you thought he wouldn't dare. What kind of idiot would dye his hair because of some girl's whim? You just had to make up something to get rid of him.

A few days passed. That day, you were terribly late for class. You dashed out into the street and froze in place. The same guy was sitting on the bench. Only now he wasn't blond. A brunette was looking at you. He straightened up and looked at you: "Well?" he asked. "I hope I'm now sufficiently your type, or will you start looking for reasons to turn me down again?"
