The Archreapers

Each Archreaper was specifically designed to emotionally and psychologically destroy Scarlet, many of them reflecting important people, traumas, or memories from her life.

Throughout all of this, Satan continued watching from Hell. Obsessed with Scarlet and enraged by her refusal to break, he created the Nine Archreapers: monstrous entities designed specifically to destroy her. They are neither ordinary demons nor true recreations of real people, but living psychological weapons formed from Scarlet’s memories, traumas, and emotional bonds. Each Archreaper embodies something capable of mentally shattering her. Some wear familiar faces purely to torment her emotionally; for example, Archreaper 0 possesses Chase’s face, though it is not truly him, only a cruel imitation created to force Scarlet to suffer. Others represent distorted versions of important people, her deepest fears, or even aspects of Scarlet herself, such as the Ninth Archreaper: a male version of Scarlet embodying her own darkness.
In the present, Scarlet lives in a fractured world filled with dimensional breaches, demonic invasions, ruined cities, and constant supernatural threats. Her powers are only a shadow of what they once were, Brook is nearly human, Ashe remains by her side reluctantly, and Satan continues manipulating events from the shadows. Scarlet spends her time protecting survivors, rescuing possessed humans, sending them to Chase’s world, and fighting against the Archreapers while struggling with grief, guilt, and the fear of losing the few things she still has left. In a universe where God is dead, Heaven is broken, and Hell remains hungry, Scarlet continues moving forward without knowing whether she is truly saving the world… or merely delaying its inevitable end.
4
Even after Ashe’s defeat, balance was never restored. God’s death had left an irreversible fracture within reality itself. The human world began partially merging with Purgatory, fragments of Heaven, and even portions of Hell. Permanent dimensional rifts opened across the planet, leaving Earth partially destroyed. Lesser demons started crossing into the human world, possessing people and transforming them into murderous creatures driven by hunger, violence, and extreme emotions.
After Chase’s death, Scarlet changed drastically. Although the grief, trauma, and guilt never disappeared, she abandoned part of her former mentality as Hell’s executioner. She and Brook stopped acting as Grim Reapers and instead dedicated themselves to saving people rather than punishing them. Rather than killing possessed humans, Scarlet developed methods to extract demons without murdering their hosts, sending survivors into the utopian refuge created by Chase. Brook, now powerless and exhausted after everything he had endured, eventually found some peace resting within that dimension.
Meanwhile, Ashe survived. After losing his powers, Scarlet captured him and kept him imprisoned for a long time inside Chase’s sanctuary. At first, there was nothing between them except hatred — Scarlet could never forget that Ashe murdered Chase — but over time, their relationship became increasingly complicated. When Scarlet needed help freeing possessed humans and carrying the burden she faced alone, she reluctantly turned to Ashe. Annoyed and prideful, Ashe accepted. What followed was a relationship built on constant arguments, sarcasm, resentment, and a strange form of trust neither of them is willing to openly admit.
3
In the middle of the dimensional wars and supernatural chaos, Scarlet was imprisoned within the Ninth Circle of Hell for twenty-five years, completely isolated from everyone else. The experience left her emotionally shattered, psychologically scarred, terrified of loneliness, and even more dependent on the few people she truly loved. Her imprisonment was tied to an attempt to absolve Chase’s sins, while Chase himself became increasingly involved in the growing cosmic conflict.
As the universe began collapsing, Chase obtained powers originating from an angelic authority close to that of an archangel, allowing him to directly intervene in the war between supernatural forces. When Ashe reached a level of power capable of destroying the entire world, Chase fought alongside Scarlet to stop him. During the battle, Chase succeeded in destroying the demons Ashe had absorbed, stripping him of his supernatural abilities and reducing him to an almost human state. As a consequence, Brook completely lost his demon and all his powers, along with many others connected to the same system. Scarlet herself also suffered a severe reduction in power, leaving her far weaker than the monstrous being she once was.
However, victory came at a devastating cost. Chase died heroically during the conflict with Ashe, sacrificing himself to prevent an even greater catastrophe and save countless lives. Before disappearing, he used the divine authority he had inherited to create a separate dimension: an isolated sanctuary untouched by the collapsing universe, a beautiful and perfect city where people could exist far away from the suffering of the broken world. That realm became a refuge meant especially for Scarlet and anyone she chose to save.
2
Brook also entered Scarlet’s life, one of the oldest and most experienced Grim Reapers, known for his constant sarcasm, laid-back attitude, and overwhelming combat ability. Unlike most Reapers, Brook had not become one because he was a sinner; he had willingly offered himself in another person’s place to save them from Hell. Although he initially hunted Scarlet as an enemy, he eventually joined her and Chase. Brook became one of Scarlet’s most important companions, helping train her, teaching her how to partially control her demon, and acting as an emotional support disguised behind endless jokes and irritation.
As time passed, Scarlet discovered that corruption did not exist only within Hell. Heaven itself was broken. Angels, divine authorities, and entire celestial systems manipulated the fate of souls in the name of universal order, while God seemed to be gradually losing control over reality itself.
Among all existing threats, Ashe emerged as the most terrifying. Ashe was Satan’s strongest Grim Reaper and one of the most dangerous beings ever created. Cold, violent, and obsessed with power, Ashe possessed abilities nearly comparable to Satan himself due to his capacity to devour demons and absorb their powers. As he consumed more demons, he became increasingly unstable and monstrous, sacrificing his sanity in exchange for overwhelming strength. He eventually gained the ability to rip demons directly out of other Reapers, destroying the very source of their existence.
1
The universe is divided between multiple interconnected dimensions: Earth, Purgatory, Heaven, Hell, and other realms created by higher entities. For centuries, the balance between these worlds depended on a judgment system controlled by divine and demonic forces. Human souls were evaluated according to their sins and sent to different fates, while the Grim Reapers operated as Hell’s executioners: beings created through the fusion of a human soul and a demon, forced to kill sinners in order to maintain their powers and avoid eternal punishment.
Scarlet awakened in Hell with no clear memories of her past life, condemned to the Ninth Circle for seemingly unforgivable sins. To escape an eternity of torture, she accepted becoming a Grim Reaper under Satan’s command, receiving an extremely powerful demon within herself. Although she initially acted as a cold assassin tasked with eliminating human sinners, she eventually began questioning the morality of the system after discovering that many people labeled as “evil” were actually complex, manipulated, or victims of horrific circumstances. Through fragmented memories, she finally uncovered the devastating truth: before her death, she had been a serial killer, someone shaped by trauma, illness, manipulation, and violence. From that moment onward, she was forced to constantly confront the question of whether someone truly monstrous could ever change.
During this time, she met Chase Carter, a human detective obsessed with solving murders and uncovering the truth behind countless crimes. At first, they merely used each other — Scarlet needed sinners to survive, while Chase wanted answers — but their relationship slowly evolved into something far deeper. Chase became Scarlet’s connection to her humanity, the one person capable of seeing her as human even when she viewed herself as a monster. Over time, he became her reason to keep going and the only person capable of stopping her whenever she lost control.
