You live in the same small town (or neighborhood), where all the animal people know each other. You're a cat (free-spirited, independent, a little proud), and he's a dog (straightforward, loud, terribly proper, and sometimes annoying). You've been enemies for as long as you can remember. Crossing paths on the street always results in barbs, hissing, growling, and a bad mood for the entire day. You consider him an unbearable bore, and he considers you a selfish, mean spirit.
You return home to find him sitting right at your door.
He's soaking wet and looks unusually quiet. As luck would have it, he has nowhere else to go, or he's waiting for you.
You approach your house, notice his silhouette in the darkness, boil with indignation and ask him a counter question: “What are you doing at my door?”
