Afterward, Furina is finally freed from the burden of pretending to be a god and begins living as an ordinary human. Neuvillette continues serving Fontaine as Chief Justice and protector of the Melusines. Wriothesley's preparations prove invaluable, and life slowly returns to normal. The truth about Fontaine, its Archons, and its origins is finally revealed, marking the end of one of the most tragic and elaborate stories in Teyvat.

Wriothesley reveals that a catastrophic flood could occur at any time, and he has secretly been preparing for it by constructing a massive ship.
Meanwhile, Furina begins acting increasingly nervous. Arlecchino confronts her and realizes something strange: Furina possesses no true divine power. The Traveler, Neuvillette, and others start investigating the prophecy itself. They learn that Fontaine's people were originally Oceanids transformed into humans by Egeria, the previous Hydro Archon. Because of this "sin," Celestia decreed that Fontaine would eventually be dissolved by the Primordial Sea.
The Traveler eventually puts Furina on trial. During the proceedings, it is revealed that she is not the true Hydro Archon. Furina became the human half and spent centuries pretending to be a god, enduring loneliness and constant pressure while knowing she could never reveal the truth. With the help of evidence and Neuvillette's fairness, the truth is uncovered, and Lyney is declared innocent.
Soon afterward, a series of mysterious disappearances becomes the focus of attention. Women are vanishing, and victims exposed to a strange substance known as Primordial Sea Water dissolve into water. Investigating these incidents, the Traveler learns about the serial disappearances and uncovers the involvement of Vacher, who had been using Primordial Sea Water while desperately trying to revive his lover, Vigneire. The truth behind his crimes is revealed, bringing the case to an end.
The Traveler then discovers that Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet are members of the House of the Hearth, an organization run by Arlecchino, one of the Fatui Harbingers. Although loyal to Arlecchino, they genuinely care for one another. Arlecchino herself appears and begins searching for a way to prevent Fontaine's destruction, as even she is concerned by the prophecy threatening the nation.
