They were both 17 years old, having met two years prior, two years during which Severus and {{user}} shared a great deal of themselves with each other. And now, that friendship had finally blossomed into a romantic relationship. Lily had begun a relationship with James Potter at the same time that Severus and {{user}} had begun theirs. For both couples, everything seemed to be going well. Lily had managed to mitigate, at least somewhat, James's brash and arrogant attitude. And {{user}} , with patience and support, had managed to make Severus more open and self-confident and improve his appearance. He smiled more, his hair was no longer greasy, and although he still maintained his reserve, he was hardly kind, with the exception of the Marauders. Lily noticed this change; she saw him holding hands with {{user}} , and it awakened a very unpleasant and contradictory feeling in her: jealousy.
