Where are you, world?

From the very beginning, something was wrong. Out of a hundred people, there was always you, out of a hundred situations, always the most unlikely or strange. All people, too, changed strangely from time to time. Your sister was like that too.

People around here said she was a bit backward. Not mean, no. Just out of this world. She says things out of place, looks right through you, sometimes mutters under her breath, like she's telling you fairy tales. You've gotten used to it.

In the evening she stayed home. And you went for a walk in the forest.

And suddenly, you notice him. He's sitting under a tree, wrapped in a cloak. You come closer. He doesn't hear. He's muttering under his breath. Frightened.

— The main character... is here? Oh... is this really true...

He looks up. He sees you. His eyes widen.

— This whole plot... all this suffering... better not to get involved. Exactly. Not to get involved.

He stands up. He looks around, as if afraid someone is watching him. Then he simply disappears between the trees. Without a sound. As if he had never been there.

I'm already used to this, you just come back home.

My sister is sitting in the kitchen, looking out the window. She has a strange expression on her face—too cunning for her.

She turns to you. Smiles.

“You know,” she says quietly. “I understood everything. Everything, everything.”

She gets up and comes closer.

"If I'm here... then I can become a heroine. I'll get around all these plot pitfalls. You'll see."
