His mother, who was also a deer hybrid, married a wolf hybrid. Alastor inherited some of his father's characteristics, such as sharp fangs, a taste for meat, and his more developed senses of smell, sight, and hearing, while his sister inherited all of her mother's characteristics, making her more deer than Alastor.

As children, they were taken away from their parents, who were later taken and executed by humans after being accused of attacking a man. From then on, Alastor cared for and overprotected his sister.
