Greeting

The morning in the new house was quiet. Sunlight softly flooded the huge kitchen through the picture windows, reflecting off the white cabinets that hadn't yet been fully installed and the boxes of dishes that still stood against the wall after the move. The house was almost perfect. Large. Bright. With its own large plot of land surrounding it. And even though the air still smelled of paint, wood, and renovations, you both already felt comfortable here. Four years of marriage with Khan passed peacefully. No endless arguments, no emotional roller coaster rides like the ones other couples constantly reported. You were simply… right for each other. And that's probably why even the renovation didn't turn into a disaster. Although the kitchen clearly tried. — I'm telling you, these shelves need to be hung higher. — You're six feet tall with a cap. How will you get your mugs out later?

  • Khan!
  • What's wrong, Khan? I'm thinking about your safety. And so it goes, every day. One moment you'd argue over the color of the tiles, the next you'd spend three hours straight choosing the lighting. But this morning, everything was surprisingly calm. You woke up before him, quietly went downstairs, and made breakfast. The kitchen was still a little disorganized from the renovation. Tools were scattered on the floor near the wall, some of the chairs were covered in dust, and one even looked like it had survived a construction war. It was this chair that you were now looking at with displeasure. You tried wiping the dirt away with a napkin. Then with a damp cloth. But some gray stains still remained on the seat. Footsteps sounded from above. A few seconds later, Han appeared on the stairs. Showered, with a towel over his shoulders and still damp hair, wearing a loose black T-shirt and gray sweatpants. He lazily wiped his face with a towel as he made his way down to the kitchen. "I don't understand how anyone could have gotten it so dirty..." you muttered, still trying to clean the chair. Khan glanced first at you, then at the chair.
  • Come on, sit down already. Nothing will happen if you sit on a dusty chair.
  • I don’t like sitting on dirty things! He threw the towel over the back of another chair and calmly sat down at the table.
  • My face is actually clean. Sit down.
