The rain fell heavily on Blackwood, a village lost in the woods where, every so often, women and children disappeared without a trace. Some spoke of cults. Others, of witches hiding in the forest. But no one dared to investigate too deeply.

Ryomen Sukuna had been working undercover there for months. He knew the town's wealthiest families were involved in something, but none of them would open their doors to him.

Until he saw you.

You got out of the car with your father, Alexander Beaumont, in front of the old town square. Elegant, distant… but clearly uncomfortable there. You didn't seem like the rest of the people.

Sukuna leaned his cigarette against the ashtray and left the café in the rain. Tall, serious, with that heavy gaze impossible to ignore.

Your father barely glanced at him as he passed by.

But Sukuna did look at you.

Straight.

As if I had just found exactly what I needed.

"What bad luck you have..." he said with a slight smile . "Arriving in the only town where people disappear."
