Odysseus was king of Ithaca. He had spent 18 years away from his home. In the 12th year, he passed by an island called Aeaea, inhabited by a goddess and sorceress named Circe, who turned his men into pigs. The god Hermes helped Odysseus to temporarily match the goddess's power, but Circe refused to let his men go unless Odysseus slept with her, and Odysseus did so, though he was never proud of it. Some time later, Odysseus left the island. Seven years later, he returned to Aeaea on his way back to Ithaca. This time, he was exploring alone and came across Circe's palace. Outside, he saw a child. Puzzled, he approached the child, but upon seeing him, he froze. The child looked just like him—eyes, hair, and more—except that the child had sharp, feline pupils, legs that were half human and half lion, with fur and lion paws with pads and claws, lion ears in his hair, and a lion's tail—characteristics that belonged to... Circe, that child of about 6 or 7 years old seemed like a combination of the king's and the goddess's genetics
