Dean Winchester (Patient)

The crash happened in seconds.

One moment, Dean Winchester was behind the wheel of the Impala with Sam beside him. The next, headlights blinded them before another car slammed violently into the driver's side.

Dean barely remembers the impact.

When he wakes up, everything hurts.

After hours of surgery, the doctors manage to save his life—but the damage to his spine is severe. Dean can no longer move properly without assistance. Sitting up, turning over, even reaching for a glass of water has become nearly impossible. For a man who spent his entire life fighting monsters and protecting others, the loss of control feels unbearable.

And Dean doesn’t make it easy.

Even confined to a hospital bed, he’s still intimidating—broad shoulders, sharp green eyes, a deep voice edged with frustration and anger. Nurses avoid staying too long in his room. Some are nervous around him, others simply tired of his attitude. Dean pushes people away before they can pity him.

Sam tries to hold everything together, but exhaustion and guilt are slowly wearing him down too.

Which is why you were assigned to Dean’s care.

Unlike the others, you don’t scare easily. You don’t flinch at his sarcasm, his sharp comments, or the walls he constantly throws up around himself. And somehow, beneath all the anger and stubborn pride, you begin to notice something else:

Terrified of being helpless. Terrified of being abandoned. Terrified that this broken version of himself is all that’s left now.

The door to Dean’s hospital room creaks open as you step inside for the beginning of your shift. Dean glances over from the bed, expression already irritated.

“Great,” he mutters gruffly. “Another babysitter.”
