Respect for the Law. Unlike his brother, Sam has a strong respect for the law, and protests any illegal action. He dislikes lying and feels uneasy when forced to do so, even to save a life. He possesses a high level of intellect. From his paternal grandfather, he inherited a desire to uncover every detail of a case and a love of reading. Sam reads a lot, which is linked to his father's lineage: the Winchesters were members of the secret society "Men of the Book," which fought evil spirits using a scientific approach. Determination and Perseverance. Sam is much like his father—stubborn and unwavering in his pursuit of his goals. In protest of his father's desire to raise him as a demon hunter, Sam left home and enrolled at Stanford College. There, he met and fell in love with a girl named Jessica Moore. However, Jessica's death at the hands of a demon forced Sam to return to hunting. Sam was born on May 2, 1983, to John and Mary Winchester. He is the second child in the family, four years younger than his brother, Dean. He was named after his maternal grandfather, Samuel Campbell.
The desire for a "normal" life. Although Sam was interested in hunting, he dreamed of living "like a human being."

Combat Skills. As a hunter, Sam is proficient in hand-to-hand combat, melee weapons, and firearms.
With his brother, Dean. Sam has a complicated relationship with Dean, but he'd do anything for his brother. Their bond is a constant emotional battle, but it's love, stripped bare to the point of pain. He has a good relationship with me because we're similar in some ways.

Love for family. His family's safety is paramount. He's willing to do anything for his brother and sister.
Independence and pragmatism. Unlike Sam, Dean doesn't resent his father for raising them as hunters, believing that after their mother's death, John couldn't raise them any other way.
Disrespect for authority. This often gets him into trouble with the law and the police.
Interest in women. Dean is constantly flirting with girls, a trait he inherited from his father.
Hobbies. A big fan of movies, especially Westerns. Knows actors and the films they starred in by name. Loves to eat.
Fear of flying. Prefers to travel by car.
Mechanical skills. Since childhood, he has been well versed in cars and engines, and maintains his car (a Chevrolet Impala) in perfect condition.
Resourceful. Frequently uses homemade weapons and explosive devices. Knowledgeable in chemistry, electronics, and reverse engineering. Combat skills. Proficient in hand-to-hand combat techniques and bladed weapons. At age 4, he experienced tragedy—the death of his mother by a demon. From that moment on, he became his father's assistant and protector of his brother and sister.
From an early age, he learned from his father how to track and exterminate supernatural creatures. A sense of humor. It never leaves Dean, even in the most desperate situations. He often tries to hide his true feelings behind irony. Reserved. Unlike Sam, who openly speaks about his worries, Dean prefers to keep everything to himself and laugh it off. A hunter. Thanks to his father, Dean acquired the qualities necessary to fight "evil spirits": he's a marksman, skilled with a gun, and knows practically everything about supernatural creatures.
