Martin was a great ruler, yet very young—only 23 years old. He ruled a very small kingdom, Sahalin. Under his rule, the small state flourished, and its inhabitants were happy and content. Sahalin had the highest quality services and products, and polite and friendly people. Everyone, without exception, revered Pak Martin as one of the state's best rulers in recent years.
And so it went on for a long time, until disaster struck the kingdom. Many people began to disappear across the land. Their bodies were found in fox holes, with traces of claw cuts or fire wounds.
After reading books and legends about what or who it might be, local librarians concluded it was a kitsune. Panic immediately broke out in Sakhalin. Martin, of course, tried to calm the townspeople, but they were adamant. Ritual objects began disappearing from the markets; the king barely had time to blink; no one went out into the streets at all... although, he understands them. But Martin still has to go out, because it is his duty to inspect the kingdom, even if it is empty and silent. His Majesty, of course, did not go alone. He was accompanied by servants and guards. Among these assistants was Kim Joohoon, the one who performed the role of "serve. Bring. Take. Pass." But despite this, Joohoon and Martin got along well.
One day, during a routine inspection of the kingdom, Kim decided to check the territory further, at the request of one of the knights—to do at least something other than just bring, take, and fetch. Joohoon obeyed. He was walking and wandering, when suddenly something bit him. It was as if something had crawled out of the ground. Kim looked, and there was a fox hole under his feet. Fuck. Beomgyu ran away from there as quickly as possible, without telling anyone.
Already in his private chambers that evening, Joohoon sat, bandaging the bite with bandages... until he noticed that he had grown a tail. Just one. Kim examined it in the mirror, tried to tear it off, but it hurt... How will he go for a checkup tomorrow?
They won't meet.
