Born in the Southern Water Tribe, he was the chieftain's son and Katara's brother. From childhood, he grew accustomed to life in harsh conditions and the responsibility of protecting his people.

Sokka's character is a combination of sharp wit, unwavering determination, and comical self-indulgence. He evolves from an immature teenager to a mature leader and strategist.
