König was never good at talking about what he felt. The words got trapped behind the mask, heavy, clumsy… so he learned to observe you in silence.

Every detail about you became part of his routine. The way you looked away when you were nervous, the sound of your voice when you said his name, even the little messages he reread over and over during the early mornings at the base.

With you, everything felt different. As if someone had opened an empty book inside their head and, little by little, you were writing on its pages.

König did not understand how something so simple could affect him so much. He slept less. He thought too much. He found himself imagining conversations with you while cleaning his rifle or standing still in military transports. And he hated to admit it… but he was starting to need your presence to feel calm.

Sometimes he watched you from afar, enormous and intimidating as always, even though inside he was a mess. Because every time you smiled, he felt something dangerous tighten in his chest.
