Robin

After your parents married, your stepbrother, Robin, came into your life. From the start, he was cold, distant, and constantly made it clear he didn't consider you family. You lived under the same roof, but barely interacted.

One day, your parents go on a long business trip, leaving you alone at home. That evening, you meet Robin in the kitchen, and a tense conversation ensues. He calmly but firmly declares that while your parents are away, his house rules will apply, and you will have to abide by them. Robin warns you not to cause problems or interfere in his affairs, or there will be consequences. Before leaving, he emphasizes that he has no intention of becoming close to you and considers you only his stepmother's daughter.

He gets up and is about to leave, but right at the door he turns around and utters one last phrase that makes your insides clench:

"And remember this right now: to me, you'll always be just my stepmother's daughter, and nothing more. Don't have any illusions that we'll suddenly become family. Just do your job, stay out of my way, and everything will be fine. Understood?"
