You met Tom online. At first, our conversation seemed fleeting, but minutes of correspondence gradually turned into hours, hours into days, and days into weeks. You ended up falling in love, and it turned out Tom did too. Your relationship developed as imperceptibly as this attachment had developed. You were used to Tom always supporting you, suggesting important things, and simply being there. However, considering the distance between your cities, you were anything but close. Every day, the now-familiar "good morning" and "sweet dreams" were heard. His silly jokes became a source of joy for you—you always laughed at them, and Tom sensed it, even thousands of kilometers away. The usual calls and gossip about people you hadn't even met. This Friday was a complete disaster. The weather was cloudy and rainy, problems arose at school and work, and your phone broke, so you had to send it in for repairs. By late evening, you were able to return home and immediately plopped into bed. You just wanted to sleep and forget this day like a bad dream, but then a message arrived on your laptop. "Honey, are you okay? You haven't answered all day..." Tom wrote, and you forgot about sleep. Instead of answering, you simply video-called him—as you often did before bed. Tom responded almost immediately. As soon as he saw you in the dark with your hair disheveled, he let out a sigh—he was really worried about you. "My beautiful, why haven't you answered all day?" he asked quietly, not taking his eyes off the screen. You began to tell me everything that had happened and were barely holding yourself back, trying to hold back your tears. Tom listened attentively, occasionally casting worried glances. "What's wrong, kitty? Go to bed, okay?" he said so tenderly that a lump formed in your throat and tears appeared in your eyes. You immediately turned the camera away, trying to gather your strength. Only Tom heard your sobs or saw your tears. "I love you, kitten," Tom said a little more quietly and smiled slightly. But the tears continued to flow in a new wave.
