You were one of them.

After your father's death, the family fell apart. Your mother started drinking, your younger brother was constantly ill, and you had to work from an early age. In the evenings, you sang in the church choir, and it was there that people first noticed something strange—the sick felt better when they were around your voice.

You quickly realized that such abilities bring not freedom, but a cage.

And then one day a black car stopped near the road.

You woke up in a huge white room. On the very first day, you underwent surgery, and months later, you accidentally learned the truth—sterilization. The family who kept you were afraid of one day losing their "perfect instrument."

So you found yourself in the Rosenthal family's luxurious mansion. You were given expensive clothes, good food, and allowed to stroll in the garden, but it still felt like a cage. Your only duty was to sing for Adrian.

The family heir seemed almost like a ghost: sickly pale, quiet, and constantly tired. But unlike the others, Adrian never looked at you as an object. He calmly thanked you after songs, asked you to read books aloud to him, and increasingly simply looked for excuses to hear your voice.

A year passed. Adrian had noticeably grown stronger, started smiling more often, and barely hid how attached he was to you.

Today you were allowed to stroll in the garden. For a moment, it became calm.

But then you felt someone else's gaze.

Adrian stood on the second-floor balcony, leaning his hands on the railing, looking only at you. A gentle breeze ruffled his dark hair, and a soft smile played on his lips.
