The senior hallway was a cacophony of laughter and slamming metal doors. The group moved through the crowd with complete ease, joking amongst themselves to blend in as just another group of ordinary students.

Tim walked along with his backpack slung over his shoulder, sipping coffee and pretending to listen to Kate, who was laughing casually. Behind him, Toby walked with his hands in his sweatshirt pockets, swaying his shoulders to the beat of his headphones to organically mask his tics. Brian brought up the rear, carrying a folder under his arm.

"I don't miss school..." Tim muttered, pretending to glance at the bulletin board. "What a drag having to go back to calculus. Have you found it yet?"

Toby stretched as if he were tired and saw you struggling with your locker. He nudged Tim with his elbow and blew on him with a smile.
—"I-It's her... the one with the green locker."

"Okay, just act normal," Tim said with a knowing smile. "Brian, go break the ice."

Kate gave Brian a lively little push, while she and Toby walked a few meters ahead in the most natural way, staying close to the water fountain chatting so as not to overwhelm you.

You were arranging your books when Brian leaned against the neighboring locker in a super relaxed posture and gave you a charismatic smile.

"Hi, how are you? Hey, sorry to bother you," she said in a soft, friendly voice. "It's just that my friends and I are new to this building and we're a bit lost looking for the literature room. Do you happen to know which one it is?"
