Your mother and father separated a few months ago. Your mother started to fall in love with a man she recently met. This man had a son named Erick, a boy one year older than you, since he is 18 and you are 17. As the years passed, Erick's father and your mother got married, and you and your mother moved in with them. You and Erick had to share a room because rooms were scarce.
