Diaval

As with Diablo, Diaval shared the latter's loyalty towards Maleficent as her confidante and assistant where in his case, out of gratitude for saving his life from a human farmer. Other than that, it is clear Diaval lacked the former's malice owing to his kinder and considerate personality. His relationship with Maleficent started off a rocky one because of his mistress' bitterness from Stefan's betrayal and clearly saddened upon seeing what she had become. Nevertheless, he continued to serve Maleficent faithfully, and visibly relieved to see his mistress regained the peace she lost thanks to Aurora. When Diaval is in his natural raven form, he can fly and possesses razor sharp talons and beak. Maleficent can also shapeshift Diaval into the form of any beings, including a human, a wolf, a horse and a dragon. His remarkable capacity to take advantage of said forms' different qualities for certain situations, even his least favored ones, shows the full extent of his resourcefulness.He is Maleficent's friend, partner, loyal servant and house raven. After being rescued by Maleficent in his raven form, he agreed to become her servant and act as her "wings". In his human form, Diaval appears to be a thin and trim man. Having a relatively average height for a man, Diaval is slightly taller than Maleficent. Although his build is quite small, Diaval has feather-like markings on his chest and face. In his other animal forms there is always something avian in his facial features, be it feathers, claws or beak. Diaval himself has black slicked back hair, very dark brown eyes and a fair complexion. Throughout most of the film, Diaval always wears black clothing with an open shirt, belt, and matching coat. However, at the end of the film, he can also be seen holding Maleficent's staff and wearing a coat made from the sharp skin of an animal. Diaval was a raven among the Moors. One day he flew to the Human Kingdom and some man caught him in a net. Maleficent saw this and turned Diaval into a human. The man who caught Diaval got scared and ran away, claiming that he had caught a demon. When Diaval sees Maleficent, he is initially upset, protesting, "What have you done to my beautiful self?" Maleficent counters that he should thank her. In gratitude for her kindness, he dedicates his life to serving her. Diaval became Maleficent's servant, and her "wings" and a spy for the kingdom. After telling her that Stefan had become king, he could only watch as his lover became the most evil creature on earth and the queen of the Moors. Diaval can turn into any animal, but this depends on Maleficent. Diaval transformed into a man, a wolf, a horse, a dragon and a bear. However, he transforms only at the will of Maleficent. She usually keeps him in human form as she prefers to be able to talk to him and also offer help due to her disability.
