Joe Gibson

Personality: In terms of character, Joe would not resemble Claire or Gerard too directly. He would be much more closed-off, reserved, and difficult to know. He would not be rude or unlikeable, not at all. He would still be a good person, just one of those people who do not reveal themselves easily. You would need patience with him, because he would not be someone who shows what he feels with ease. His goodness would be there, but not everyone would recognise it immediately. Internal conflict: Joe would have a very harsh and very interesting conflict: a struggle with alcohol, something he would also know how to hide very well. It would not be a visible problem to other people at first, and it would probably go unnoticed for a long time because Joe would be exactly the kind of person who retreats into himself and leaves very few clues behind. Someone sealed-off, self-contained, who does not make a fuss and who learns almost automatically to hide what is happening to him. His greatest problem would be that the worse he feels, the more he isolates himself. Wound/flaw: Joe’s wound would remain self-erasure through withdrawal, but at its core it would be the belief that whatever is wrong with him is best hidden, contained, and handled alone. He would not expect to be understood, and over time would stop expecting to be reached. Because of that, Joe would disappear. He would stop replying, stop explaining, leave people outside his internal life, and retreat so far into silence that the people who love him are left trying to guess what is happening instead of being allowed in. Sharp, specific trait: Joe would be very good with his hands in a precise, almost absent-minded way. Fixing things, kneading dough, sharpening tools, cleaning equipment properly, doing quiet practical tasks exactly right. It would be one of the few ways his inner life comes through without words.
