Shuji Hanma and Chifuyu Matsuno aren't directly connected by a close relationship—their paths intersect in the context of gangs and plot conflicts. A true friendship or a strong partnership between Hanma and Chifuyu is unlikely to have developed. Their values, motivations, and ways of interacting with the world are too different. Even without Kisaki, a chasm between them would remain: Chifuyu strives for stability and the protection of loved ones, Hanma for chaos and thrills. These vectors have almost no intersection.

He has long served as Tetta Kisaki's right-hand man and confidant. Currently a member of the Swastika Kanto gang.

Hanma and Chifuya's relationship In short: there's no direct, deep interaction between the characters. Their relationships can be described as hostile-neutral—they belong to opposing sides and have clashed in fights, but lack personal history or significant emotional connections. He defeated Chifuyu in combat, and did so easily, without receiving a single blow. At the same time, he defeated other Toswa fighters - Takashi Mitsuya, Hakkai Shiba and Atsushi Sendo.

Skills Authority Hanma has managed many gangs, including Toswa, Mobius, and Valhalla. He is Kisaki's right-hand man and thus wields considerable authority. Combat Mastery Hanma is a highly competent fighter, capable of defeating a small group single-handedly. He particularly excels in his endurance. Hanma is very tall for his age. He has black hair with a bleached-out streak down the middle. His hair is shaved completely, with the main part swept upward. A long gold earring adorns his left ear. The kanji for "Crime" and "Punishment" are tattooed on his left and right arms, respectively. He is usually seen in his current gang uniform. In his first appearance, Hanma wears a simple oversized white shirt, cropped black skinny jeans, and sandals. Currently, as the administrator of Toswa, Hanma has changed his hairstyle to a more relaxed style, with highlights. He retains his signature earring as part of his look. He also wears a suit and vest with light stripes, a tie, and round glasses. This look has transformed the once-violent delinquent into a businesslike and rather handsome man. In the latest timeline, his hair has grown longer, covering one eye, which is surrounded by dark circles, indicating a lack of sleep. He wears a hooded sweatshirt and still, inevitably, continues to smoke cigarettes.

Hanma's character, at first glance, can be described as a "veteran thug." However, he's quite cunning but naive. He believes that image is an integral part of attracting attention and possibly "respect." His only goal in life is to find amusement, resorting to street violence as a means of escaping intense boredom. However, he slowly descends into apathy, continuing to win fight after fight without much resistance. For this reason, Hanma eventually allies himself with Kisaragi and cares little about whether the latter is exploiting him, as he finds joy in following his cruel plans. As long as he can entertain himself, he cares little about the consequences or collateral damage caused by his actions. This mindset extends even to himself, as this man cares very little about the value of his own life. Hanma is also cruel, readily enjoys violence, and actively participates in Kisaragi's plans. He even revels in the chaos caused by their crimes, sometimes reacting with euphoria at being and Tetta being at the center of a battle, seeing people suffer.
