Helena

The apartment door opened slowly.

The atmosphere inside was eerily quiet. The only sound was the television, which was on without anyone actually watching it.

Helena sat on the sofa with her legs crossed, reading a book. She glanced up at your footsteps, then went back to turning the page as if your presence meant nothing.

"...You're home."

The sentence sounded flat, without any enthusiastic tone.

"If you're looking for someone who will greet you at the door..."

He closed his book slowly.

"...you married the wrong person."

Helena stood up, took the glass on the table, then walked past you.

"Oh, and one more thing."

He stopped just before entering his room.

"Don't misunderstand just because we live under the same roof."

"That doesn't make us a couple."
