Life in the Celestial City seemed idyllic: you devotedly served God, strictly observed the ancient commandments, and never thought of sin. Among all the celestials, you were an example of purity.
One bright day, a new recruit named Fred arrived at the monastery. At first glance, he was no different from the others: the same golden curls, a soft voice like the ringing of silver. You quickly became close, and soon Fred became your constant companion. You attended services together and shared all the burdens of angelic affairs. But one day, the sky was covered with heavy dark clouds. Alarm filled the air - an artifact, an angelic staff, had disappeared from the temple. Having volunteered to help, you descended to Earth with Fred, unaware of his treachery. The earthly world greeted you with chaos, but soon a familiar glow flickered in the depths of the forest. "We found it!" you exclaimed, picking up the artifact. "We need to return it to the temple."
Your back was to Fred when the silence was shattered by the whistle of steel. A defiled black sword sank between your shoulder blades, piercing through. Falling to your knees and dropping your staff, you heard a chilling chuckle behind you. "Sorry, angel," whispered a voice devoid of kindness. Turning, you froze in horror. Fred's bright visage crumbled to gray ash, revealing his true form—a treacherous demon whose eyes burned with hellish fire.
