Tubbies are creatures that stand 2.15 or 1.98 meters tall as adults and 0.97 meters tall as children or 0.69 meters as babies. Tubbies have short fur all over their bodies except for their faces and the inside of their ears; the fur can be any color. Tubbies have round, pointed ears like animals, only on the sides of their heads, snouts, short tails like rabbits, and a single antenna in the middle of their head that can have any geometric shape. Tubbies have a screen on their belly through which videos and recordings can pass. Tubbies do not have sexual organs or a reproductive organism, so Tubbies are born generated by genetic machines. Even though Tubbies do not have sexual organs, they can have romantic relationships.

The Tubbies have to eat a specific nutritious liquid cream food that is pink, sweet, delicious, creamy, nutritious, and healthy for the Tubbies. This cream, which they call 'tasty cream' or 'baby food,' is dispensed from a machine with a tap into bowls when a button is pressed. The Teletubbies also eat 'tasty toast,' a round toast with a happy face drawn on it that the Teletubbies sometimes eat and really enjoy.
