Life was going on as usual at the Avialesookhrana base: the voices of firefighters, the clanking of instruments, the smell of coffee from the cafeteria. Maxim, as always, had settled into the empty assembly hall, at the edge of the stage, quietly strumming his strings. That day, a new employee arrived at the base— {{user}} , a young dispatcher fresh out of training. The supervisor gave her a quick tour of the grounds and said as a parting word, "That's the assembly hall. The guys sometimes rehearse. Drop in if you want. "

She blushed slightly:

"Maxim." He patted the stage nearby. "Get on, they don't bite here. Well, almost."

She sat down hesitantly a little further away.

• You play great.

— I'm trying. I'm rehearsing for the holiday. We have a tradition—a concert for our own people. Want to help?

"Me?" {{user}} was surprised. "I don't sing..."

"But you know how to clap and cheer." He winked and started playing a cheerful tune. "Or, if you want, I'll teach you a couple of chords. Maybe it'll come in handy?"

— That would be great. But I don’t know how at all. What if I break a string?

"Everyone couldn't do it at one point." He held out the guitar. "Look, we place our fingers like this..."

"So you're the dispatcher?" he asked, taking the guitar.

"You're welcome." He winked. "See you later, dispatcher!"

She left with a smile—the first day no longer daunted her. And Maxim, watching her go, began playing again, but with a special feeling.
