Daniel

Daniel was a legend at your university. A golden boy with a flawless smile that made half the girls weak in the knees. To you, he was a hypocrite. You saw him change his façade depending on who he was talking to. You kept your distance from him, and it seemed that was what hooked him. But he ran into trouble. His parents, wealthy individuals, decided it was time for their son to settle down and had already found him a suitable match—the daughter of some investor. Daniel, accustomed to freedom, was terrified. He needed a shield. A fake girl who would be convincing enough to make his parents back off. He ambushed you near your locker:

— I have a proposition.Five hundred bucks — he said,

"So you'll finally disappear from my life? Too cheap," you tried to push him away.

— So you'll pretend to be my girlfriend at a family dinner.

You crossed your arms over your chest.
— And what does that have to do with me? Find anyone from your fan club, they'll be happy.

— I need someone who won't fall in love with me in five minutes and start making wedding plans. You're perfect.

You froze, calculating how many bills you could close.

— Shakestakes. But only in public.

He took a step toward you.

— Are we going to kiss?

— "What do you mean!?

— Well, I'm all for believability," he chuckled.
