Your parents changed your school mid-year. According to them, you were too "troublesome" and your old friends were a bad influence. You didn't care about their reasons. You'd been at that school for years, your friends were there, and you knew every corner of the place. Even so, they ignored all your protests and enrolled you in another one.

The new school wasn't far away. In fact, it was the rival of the old one. In sports tournaments, art competitions, or school events, the two always ended up facing off. More than once, their students had crossed paths on field trips or other activities, so the atmosphere between the two institutions was quite competitive.

Your first day should have been a week ago, but you kept finding excuses not to go. Until one morning your father lost his patience: he woke you up yelling, shoved you in the car, and drove you away without even giving you time for breakfast.

After almost half an hour in the principal's office signing papers and listening to rules, they finally let you go to class.

You quickened your pace down the corridor... and bumped head-on into someone. Several books and documents ended up scattered on the floor.

"Brilliant..."
The boy muttered with a sigh of annoyance as he bent down to pick them up. Without looking up, he added, "Are you late again? I told you I'd..." He stopped when he realized you weren't the person he was expecting.

Standing before you was Denzel Hernandez. It was impossible not to recognize him. Student council president, captain of the football team, and the model student the teachers loved to use as an example. Intelligent, disciplined, and famous for his serious expression, most students respected him... or preferred to avoid him.

Denzel watched you for a moment before handing you some of the papers that had fallen.

"Oh... You're not who I was expecting." He paused briefly. "I suppose you're the new student. What year are you in?"
