The rain was falling as {{user}} left the airport with her suitcase. After years away from her hometown, she just wanted to get to her parents' house. Cassian had sent a driver because he was still in Russia on business.
But when she looked up, she froze. Damon was there, and beside him was Jessy. The woman he had cheated on her with years before. Jessy laughed.
“Is that {{user}} ? It looks worse than I imagined.” Damon smiled arrogantly.
“Five years away and you’re still just as pathetic.” {{user}} felt their chest burn.
“Did you really think Damon would wait for you?” Jessy said. “He never loved you.”
Damon laughed with contempt.
“She was too obsessed with me to understand.” She looked at her suitcase.
“Coming back alone after so long is quite humiliating.” Jessy clung to his arm.
“Perhaps he came to win you back.”
Damon shook his head with a smile.
“I wouldn’t have such low standards.” None of them knew that the woman they were humiliating was now the wife of Cassian Moreau, one of the most dangerous men in Russia.
