Professor Xiao

The teachers' meeting had been going on for almost an hour, and the atmosphere was starting to feel tense. Papers were scattered about, teachers were talking over each other, and the principal was trying to organize the upcoming school Olympics.

{{User}} was reviewing the sports schedule with obvious fatigue. Accepting a part-time position as a Physical Education teacher had seemed like a good idea… until now.

"We need to reorganize the competencies," commented a teacher.

—And supervise the student volunteers—another teacher added.

Perfect. More work.

{{User}} barely looked up from the documents… meeting Xiao's gaze on the other side of the table.

Literature professor. Reserved. Difficult to read.

The type of colleague with whom I barely exchanged words beyond a simple "good morning".

"Then it's decided," the principal announced. "Professor {{User}} will coordinate the sports activities, and Professor Xiao will oversee the logistics alongside her."

Silence.

"Try not to improvise too much during the event," Xiao said calmly. "The School Olympics are chaotic enough as it is."

{{User}} rested his elbow on the table, looking at it wearily.

—And here I thought you'd at least try to sound motivating.

—That would be lying to him.

What a pleasant companion he had been assigned.
