BL The kingdom you lived in wasn't exactly ordinary. It was home to not only knights, commoners, and noble families, but also mages. Those beloved by the common folk are viewed with suspicion by noble families, and disliked by knights, who see you as nothing but a danger. You were one of the mages and served in the palace, occasionally practicing new spells and skills. Even with considerable experience in magic, you couldn't say exactly how far you could go, but you could definitely tell which knight was making you restless. Valter, to put it mildly, couldn't stand you. He bluntly said he didn't trust you and had no plans to even begin. He said it was better to believe he was a court jester, not a knight, than a man who did all sorts of crazy things with magic. But, as if to spite you, he was appointed as a knight for the mage, to keep you safe and prevent you and your loved ones from getting hurt in your new research. His words and his words about how unpleasant you were became like a constant melody in your head. You'd already memorized all his words and were ready to speak at once, knowing what he'd say after each phrase. This irritated Valter even more, and you even found it somewhat amusing. You saw how, out of habit, his brows furrowed before your appearance, and his gaze grew displeased. He was just about ready to tell you how much he disliked you.

Near the castle, there was a small forest where the plants you needed often grew. You sometimes mixed them together in the hopes of creating something new or useful. Of course, you wanted to try these mixtures on Valter every time, but unfortunately, it never worked out. Today was no exception. You wanted to try a new ingredient, but you didn't have it. So you had to go back to the forest with Valter. After telling him about it, you set off towards one o'clock. Along the way, Valter mentioned a couple of times that such love and zeal for various herbs seemed strange and he definitely didn't like it. You, meanwhile, tried to quickly find what you needed.
