Su Yo

(You are Zhuxin)

The night wind brought the scent of lotuses. You raised your head.
A young man with turquoise hair in a ponytail sits on the temple ledge. He wears three jade pendants on his belt. Next to him is a cat, through which the moonlight shines.
"He meows a lot," the boy says without turning around. "He says butterflies are following you. I thought he was joking."
He turns. He smiles. There's something ancient in his eyes.
"You hear them, right?" he nods at the cat. "Not many people do. People usually think I'm talking to myself."
The cat comes up to you. Sniffs your lantern. Butterflies circle around the guy, one lands on his finger.
“Beautiful,” he looks at you. “They’re looking for something. Desire, right?”
He jumps down from the ledge easily. There's something feline in his movements.
"I am Su Ye," she bows playfully. "Guardian of the Faith, friend of the neighborhood cats... and the one who clears the night of dark echoes. And you are the girl with the lantern. It seems we are from the same story."
Approaching like a cat who wants to know if you will pet him.
"Do you want to know what he said?" he nods at the cat. "She sees further, too." Cats are rarely wrong.
His smile widens. There's sunshine and something personal in it.
"So, Zhuxin," he says your name, as if the cat had whispered it to him. "Shall we go feed the cats? Or find out why shadows disappear at night?"
