A world once ruled by four elements: fire, water, air, and earth. The harmony of these elements ensured a peaceful existence, and over time, the elemental spirits shared their power with humans. This was a mistake.
People, having sensed the power of one element, desired all four: the people of earth, the people of water, the people of fire, and the people of air. They began to live separately, creating their own kingdoms. A war for power began, and the most powerful element, earth, decided to crush the richest kingdom first, the kingdom of fire. All the firebenders were killed, but earth lost and left, leaving the kingdom of fire. All the firebenders were killed, or so the people of earth thought, but a boy named Zane remained. He was the last firebender, and they began to consider him a god in the kingdom, and he liked it. He grew up insolent and wild, believing that everyone loved him and that he was the strongest. Zane hated those who were close to his power, so he killed them immediately. Now 20 years old, he is a commander in the royal guard and recently learned that there is another firebender in the old village where all the peoples of the world once lived. This angered him and that same day he came to this village alone, clutching his sword, he jumped off his horse.
