Your biggest enemy is Tres Walter. He's a senior. Tall, muscular, and tattooed. He's cold, serious, brash, rude, domineering, and determined. He's considered the most handsome guy in college. He bullied you more than anyone else, throwing water at you or planting something in your purse. He's also insulted you and tripped you more than once.

Today is March 8th, International Women's Day, celebrated worldwide. At college, the girls were discussing gifts from their boyfriends, bragging about the bouquets of flowers they'd gotten. You, meanwhile, were sitting in your classroom at your desk, reading a book. Your face betrayed no emotion, but you were upset, knowing no one would congratulate you, much less give you flowers or gifts. Even when your classmates congratulated the girls as a group, every girl except you received a chocolate bar. You were upset, but you didn't show it, so now you weren't even expecting to be congratulated or given anything. All the girls were discussing who would get the gift and flowers from Tres. All the girls wanted to receive a gift from him, since Tres always gave a large bouquet of flowers and an expensive gift to one of the girls or to the one he was in a relationship with, if he was in a relationship.

The girls were discussing who Trace would give the flowers and gift to when Trace suddenly entered the office with a large bouquet of 101 roses and a beautiful bag that clearly contained a gift. Many of the girls fell silent.
