Martial Arts
Shin was taught by Michel Collins, a renowned swordsman and warrior, so he learned many different forms of martial arts to defend himself with. He is partial to using swords.[4]

Shin has been noted as being on par, if not superior, to knights in combat.

Under the tutelage of the Guru Melinda, Shin is proficient with enchantment magic. He can remove and add enchantments on several kinds of accessories and clothes of his and his friends easily and even uses Kanji on some of his personal items like his boots. Most of the magic Shin uses when enchanting on object were anti-magic like nullification magic. Enchantment magic won’t work unless it’s imbued with magical power because the items imbued with the enchantment magic becomes a magic tool. And on top of that, it needs quite a bit of it. Therefore, one should take caution because it’s not something one should always be using. It also won’t necessarily trigger to protect one during a surprise attack. Nevertheless, I think it should prevent the situation of receiving an attack in the middle of chanting because aren’t there plenty of magic made to gather on one when trying to use magic.

Absolute Magic Defense - Any magic with malicious intent will be dispersed by the magic barrier completely on all kinds of magic.

Auto Heal - The magic can heal any injury to some extent, such as cure minor wounds or replace any damaged cells. However, it doesn’t work on illnesses.
Complete Physical Impact Absorption - When enchanted to an item, Shin maintained the image of kinetic energy being dispersed once it touches the uniform. When attacked, the item will nullifies the kinetic phenomenon behind the physical impacts such as physical objects.
Nullification Magic - A magic that Shin purely use so he can null all kinds of magic previously enchanted to an item.

Invisibility - Shin deflects all light from himself. As a result of no light hitting his body, it appears that he has disappeared. Despite this being a relatively simplistic spell, no-one in the Ultimate Magicians could understand the concept.
Sunlight beam - By gathering sunlight, Shin can shoot a beam from the sky. He also used this technique when he tried to end Oliver Schtrom on the practice ground of Security Office.

Defense Magic
Barrier - The most common magic Shin and the rest of the Ultimate Magic Research Society uses. This is also Shin's basic magic that was taught to the members of the research magic as he uses it as a basis for the growth of his society member's magic control.
Multilayer-barrier - Shin is able to summon multiple magic barriers for added defense. He is able to project them at different areas or stack them together.
Dimension Magic
Gate - A type of magic with the ability to interfere with another dimension. With this magic, one had to imagine connecting the place they were currently at, and the place they want to go to with a ‘point’ instead of a ‘line.’ The reason why Shin didn’t teleport directly was because to teleport, meant one had to temporarily decompose their body and reconstruct it when they reached their destination. Shin imagined that he might not be able to reconstruct his body properly, got scared and lost his will to test it out.
Alternative Dimension Storage Magic - Allows for the storage of objects in another dimension.
Healing Magic
Shins immense magic and magic control coupled with his basic knowledge of biology grants him a tremendous capacity for healing spells. Even surpassing mages like Sicily, who posses an affinity for casting healing magic. Shin can skillfully circulate his magic throughout another persons body to determine the nature and severity of their ailment or injuries and focus his attention on gradually repairing the most severe damages and work his way outward, fully healing them, even if they are on the brink of death.

Blue Flame - Shin imagined combustion. He ignited the oxygen around the air and produced a kindling. Furthermore, he gathered the surrounding oxygen and incited the combustion. Then, the resulting flame was fed plenty of oxygen and its temperature rapidly increased which resulted to pale blue flame. It is an ultra-high temperature flame but

Overpowered but Oblivious: Because he applies basic scientific principles (like understanding chemical compounds, oxygen, and kinetic energy) to magic, he can cast world-shattering spells. He is completely oblivious to just how groundbreaking his abilities and creations are.Severely Lacking in Common Sense: Raised in the secluded forest by legendary heroes, he was never taught standard societal norms or basic magic theory. He approaches problem-solving with an "outside the box" mentality that often leaves experts terrified.Warm and Benevolent: Despite his god-like power, he is naturally polite, humble, and kind. He despises arrogance and is driven by a fierce, protective sense of justice.Extremely Loyal: He deeply values his friendships and will go to extreme, sometimes frightening lengths to protect his friends and loved ones from harm.Humble and Admiring of Mentors: Shin respects the guardians who raised him (Merlin and Melinda). Though he often frustrates them with his bizarre, out-of-control inventions, he is quite terrified of incurring their wrath

As he is unaware of how potentially groundbreaking his creations are, Shin shows a somewhat ignorant and reckless attitude, causing others to worry on what he might do next. This causes people close to him to worry about him doing something catastrophic, should anyone bring harm to his loved ones.

It's not that Shin doesn't have common sense, it's just that he applies the common sense of 21st century Earth to everything; because of such his values and morals are naturally out of place to those of people who were born in a world akin to the Medieval Era. Most notably would by the von Claudes making him and Sicily to get engaged due to noble traditions right after they become a couple; Shin later made a proper proposal by Earth's standards, noting he was doing it out of order (but did so because it didn't feel right to him unless he did).

Shin tends to approach his new world of magic through a lens of his old world of science. He applies scientific principles to how he pictures his spells and the effects they have on the world around him. By increasing or decreasing physical aspects of chemical makeup, Shin is able to get magic to do things others aren't; even Merlin was only able to just grasp this concept.

On top of this, Shin tends to lose himself in rage when someone close to him is put in significant danger, this especially being the case for Sicily when a large number of demons were deliberately targeting her.
