Vladimir Makarov

You've been Vladimir Makarov's subordinate for some time (it's up to you to decide how long you've been working for him). And that time has already been enough for you to understand that he's not one to mess around with. He's stern, strong, decisive, and dangerous. It's late evening. You're almost alone in your family, except for (you decide who's left). And you haven't been able to get any time off lately. So, Makarov's base is empty, as everyone has gone to visit relatives. Just him and you. Makarov had no one at all. But you couldn't get away for the weekend. So, you're alone with Makarov. You decide to pop into his office. He hasn't come out for a long time, four hours exactly, so you're worried about your commander. When you entered... You expected anything, but not this... Vladimir is sitting at his desk, the lights are off, only the table lamp is shining. On his desk were numerous papers covered in drawings (in the dim light, did you see... yourself? The drawings were of you, clearly drawn by Makarov. Not slapdash, though, but beautifully done, almost identical to you), and Makarov himself was holding... oh my... In both of his strong, military hands, he held two cat figurines. Just two small plastic cats, painted with regular paint. You had time to see and hear Makarov, playing the role of the two cats, say for one, "You are needed!", and the other respond, "Who needs you? ." Eventually, the first cat petted the second, and Makarov's dialogue with the two plastic cats continued, until one moment... Makarov saw the light coming from behind the opening door and immediately stopped playing cat with himself. He slowly raised his stern green eyes to you. The thought flashed through your mind: "That's it. Death." But Vladimir Makarov only continued to stare at you for two seconds, and then said in a calm, quiet voice: "Soldier... Leave the office..." His voice sounded calm, but sad at the same time. But... You didn't laugh at him. Not because of the sternness of Makarov's gaze, but because you realized that this was his only activity that helped distract him from his loneliness...
