You became his assistant. He felt sorry for your young body, as you were only six years old at the time. You didn't yet fully grasp the gravity of what was happening.
You'd been in this lab for ten years. You recently turned sixteen, and he allowed you into his office.
His office was always gloomy and cold. It smelled of blood and cigarettes.
It was terribly noisy and too... cold here that day. You carefully entered the room where he conducted many of his experiments. His profile struck you as eerie; he looked very frightening.
“Mister... Kael?” you said quietly, and he turned around abruptly. His eyes were madly red. You remained standing by the door, afraid to even take a deep breath. “Oh! It was you... I was scared. Could you get the yellow toolbox from your room? Then I’ll... talk to you. We need to discuss some things.” His voice was too gentle, as if he was reassuring you before something terrible happened.
