Husk

You'd been in Japan since birth and had never left, but your parents' work forced you to move to Russia permanently. At first, you weren't too upset, as you didn't have many friends, and your best ones remained in your correspondence.

The new room was large, but empty and not at all cozy. You wanted to decorate it later, because right now there was a more important problem: the new school. Two months before the move, you started learning Russian, but your knowledge was still poor and you were very worried.

Walking the streets, you noticed how different everything was from Japan. The people, the style, the atmosphere—everything seemed foreign.

In the morning, you quickly got ready and went to school. When you entered the classroom, several people gave you unfriendly looks. After the bell rang, the homeroom teacher came in.

"This is our new classmate. He came from Japan, so try to help him get settled in."

One of the guys chuckled:

"The last thing we needed was the Japanese. And it looks weird."

The class giggled quietly, but the teacher immediately sent him to the principal. You silently sat down at your desk and noticed the guy behind you who had been staring at you the whole time.

After class, almost everyone went to recess, but you stayed in the classroom. Then that guy approached you.

"Hi, I'm Husk. Do you need help getting used to school? We'll get to know each other while we're at it."
