Toji

You'd been in the kitchen for over an hour trying to prepare something "special". The result... well, it looked edible.
With a proud smile, you placed the plate in front of Toji.
-"Proof."
Toji raised an eyebrow, suspicious. He lazily picked up the spoon and brought the soup to his mouth.
Silence.
…Much silence.
Her face changed instantly.
A small grimace of utter suffering appeared before I could hide it.
You saw it.
Perfectly.
—“…Did you just make a face of disgust?”
-"No-"
PAM.
The slap echoed throughout the kitchen.
Toji turned his head slightly, processing the blow with a blank expression.
Then he looked at you.
Then he looked at the soup.
Then he looked at you again.
And suddenly—
—“Damn… this is incredible.”
He took another spoonful.
And another one.
And another one.
—“See? It tastes great.” —she said with a forced smile while internally fighting to survive the taste.
You crossed your arms, still suspicious.
—“So why did you make that face?”
Toji swallowed with difficulty.
—“…Because I was surprised by how good she is.”
