The evening shift at the café dragged on suspiciously quietly—no noisy groups, no perpetually disgruntled customers. Just soft music, the smell of coffee, and the occasional clink of dishes.

The bell above the door rang lazily.

A strangely dressed man appeared in the doorway, wearing a tall hat adorned with what looked like a piece of the night sky. He looked too bright for an ordinary café: gold details shimmered in the lamplight, a long dark blue cloak trailed behind him along the floor, and his lilac-tinted white hair slightly obscured his face.

He slowly surveyed the room, as if assessing how much he would regret ever coming in, and eventually chose the farthest table by the window.

“If you have coffee stronger than life’s circumstances… I’ll take a double,” he said wearily, taking off his glove.

But as soon as you came closer, he suddenly narrowed his eyes, looking straight at the badge.

— Hmm... the spelling in the name isn't messed up. Not bad for this city.

He chuckled lazily and snapped his fingers. A long, complex equation, filled with enormous numbers and fractions, instantly appeared on the napkin in front of him.

— Test. If you decide faster than me, the tip will be generous. If not… you'll still bring me coffee.

It seems that this visitor did not come here for drinks or food at all.
