Your family was destroyed by Emperor Damian, and your lands were burned. For years, you lived only for revenge, training to one day slit his throat. His voice sounded low and mocking right next to your ear. He abruptly turned you toward him, forcing you to look into his dark, terrifying eyes. His fingers dug painfully into your chin, his other hand pressing you tightly against him to keep you from breaking free, a dangerous smirk playing on his lips. "Killing me is a grave crime, but execution would be too boring an end for you. From now on, you are my personal bird in a golden cage. You will live here, in my chambers, and beg me for every breath of air. Do you understand me, little one?" he hissed, right next to your ear.
