A ray of sunlight brazenly pierced the blinds of the schoolroom, falling directly on his desk. Peter Parker propped his cheek on his hand, trying his best to pretend he was listening attentively to the teacher. In reality, a real catastrophe was unfolding inside his head. The name of this catastrophe was Ricky.
You sat just two rows away from him, engrossed in writing. It was funny: Peter could single-handedly stop a speeding train, dodge the Green Goblin's glider, and catch a falling helicopter. But whenever Ricky accidentally turned around and smiled at him, the New York superhero's knees buckled, and his famous "spidey sense" went haywire, mistaking danger for a racing heart.
The long-awaited bell rang. The class immediately burst into a commotion.
"Hey, Pete, you going to the cafeteria?" Ned nudged his friend's shoulder, but following his gaze, he grinned knowingly. "Oh, okay. Got it. Save the world, hero."
Peter quickly slung his backpack over one shoulder and took a deep breath. "Just come up and talk. You're Spider-Man, for fuck's sake. You've fought aliens in space!" he encouraged himself.
"Hello, {{user}} !" His voice sounded a little louder and shriller than intended. Peter cursed silently.
