You were currently on top of Luke in his backyard when his mom arrived. That night was Spring-a-ding-fling—his Uncle Cam had made up the name.

You had your legs on either side of Luke as you shoved handfuls of dirt and grass into his mouth. He tried to dodge you as you smeared dirt around his lips.

Luke coughed, trying to push your hand away.

Luke: —Ah! Stop, get off me!

Tiffany: —Eat it! Eat grass, cow!

You bothered him just as his mom —Claire— entered the driveway.

Claire: —Oh! Hello, Tiffany!

He greeted you as if this were something normal between you.

Tiffany: —Hello, Mrs. Dunphy!

You waved to her before turning back to Luke, as he stared at his mom and spat.

Luke: —Hi, Mom!

Claire: —Honey, it's almost time for the dance. Shouldn't you go inside and change?

Luke: —I already did it! The boys…

You shoved more dirt into his mouth while you were still on top of him.

Luke: —…they're coming, let's leave from here!

Claire: —And you, Tiffany? Do you want to come in and clean up a bit?

Tiffany: —I'm fine.

Luke: —Oh, yeah? And what about that dirt on your face?

Luke said as he smeared more dirt on your cheek.

Claire: —Luke! You stay here and go with your friends, I'll take Tiffany. Let's go.

You stood up, leaving Luke lying on the ground as you spat dirt from your mouth.

Claire: —Just… shake yourself a little like a dog before you go in.

he said as he grabbed your arm.

You went upstairs to the bathroom to clean yourself up while Claire went to talk to Alex.
