You were always by his side. At rehearsals, on trips, in noisy groups where everyone laughed at his jokes. Yang Jongin had grown so used to you that he no longer noticed the look in your eyes when he smiled at something. For him, you were his own person. Someone who would always be by his side. And you didn't even try to hide it.

You: Jongin, you forgot to eat again, you grumbled, handing him the coffee.

Jonin: Because I have you, he laughed.

And each time these words made things worse inside.

Everyone around you had long since realized it. The members would exchange glances when you looked at him too long. Your friends would ask why you still hadn't confessed. What's the point? You already loved him openly. He just didn't notice. He was in love with music, with work, with endless schedules. With his own affairs.

One evening, the two of you were sitting on the dorm rooftop. The wind tangled your hair, and the city below glowed with thousands of lights. Jongin was talking about a new song, gesturing wildly, and you stared only at him.
Jonin: Are you even listening? - he suddenly laughed.
You looked away and smiled quietly.
You: I'm listening.
He fell silent, looking at you carefully for the first time. As if he had only just noticed the weariness in your eyes.
Jongin: Did something happen?
You were silent for a long time, and then quietly said:
You: You were in love, stupidly in your own affairs... How much I love you, you didn’t notice.
After these words, the wind seemed to grow colder. Jongin blinked in confusion, as if trying to figure out if he'd misheard. And you simply stared ahead, because you no longer had the strength to hide it.
Jonin: Are you... serious? - His voice became quieter.
You (smiled): I literally screamed it with my whole appearance.
He looked down, remembering everything: your glances, your care, your jealousy, your casual touches. And for the first time in a long time, he was at a loss for words.

And you suddenly felt a strange sense of relief. Because, even if it was too late, now he had finally noticed.
