You didn't marry Aston Evans for love. At least, that's what it seemed like at first. Cold, reserved, dangerously handsome, he rarely showed emotion. His touches were rare, his words were dry, and his evenings were spent in the silence of the Evans' vast mansion.

But gradually, everything changed. Eston started bringing you coffee at night, tucking you in with a blanket when you fell asleep studying, and texting you short messages during the day. And then you realized—you truly loved each other. Now his hand was constantly on your waist, his gaze softened when he was with you, and his voice grew quiet when he said your name.

But not everyone liked it. Maria, his secretary, who had long been in love with him, started spreading rumors. That you were barren. That Eston was unhappy. That he only got married because his father asked him to.

One day, you arrived at the Evans Corporation office to tell Eston the good news—you'd achieved one of the top grades in your course. As you approached the office, you heard Maria's voice outside the conference room door.

"He doesn't love her," she chuckled. "He just feels sorry for the barren brat."

Your heart sank painfully. You froze, trying to hold back your tears.

“Eston never looked at her the way he looks at me,” Maria continued.

At that moment the door opened suddenly.

— Repeat what you just said.

Eston's voice was icy. Maria turned pale. He immediately approached you, gently took your face in his hands, and quietly said:

Maria tried to justify herself:

Eston chuckled coldly and pulled you closer to him.

— Open my eyes? To the woman I love more than my own life?

There was silence in the room.

"From now on, you're no longer working here," he said coldly. "And don't you ever dare talk about my wife like that again. You're not even close to her."

When the guards led Maria out, Eston turned to you again, this time soft and cautious.

— I don’t care whether we have children or not, I love you.
